ServantsEdge is a leadership journey built around four one-week intensive training/retreat experiences, reading assignments and monthly peer-group meetings.
The Riverbend Retreat Center near Glen Rose is the site for the retreat weeks.
Participation in ServantsEdge is open to senior pastors, staff and all lay church leaders.
THE JOURNEY:
ServantsEdge is an experience of spiritual refocus, learning, fellowship and support that includes four retreat weeks. The retreat week starts on Monday at 2:00 p.m.. and ends on Friday at noon. Pastors are encouraged to enlist someone to fill their pulpit the Sunday following each retreat, so they can fully focus on what God is teaching them and not be concerned about preparation of their sermon on Sunday.
A team of leaders facilitate the learning activities and the peer experiences for a group. These leaders will mentor and coach your group through the entire process. Each participant is assigned a peer group. A peer group leader will guide your group using coaching elements. During the two-year experience your peer leader will encourage you and your church. You will meet with your peer group every day of the retreat week and at least once monthly between retreats. During the retreat week participants engage in learning experiences, times of personal reflection, recreation, worship and peer groups. Participants experience community with a larger body as they participate in the process with other groups that are ahead of them on the journey.
ServantsEdge is designed to take leaders through a personal journey that will foster personal transformation, disciple making, visioning and kingdom impact. The weeks contain the following:
Week 1: Being Disciples (Obedience, Walking in the Light and Abiding in Christ).
Week 2: Developing Disciples (What is a Disciple, the Biblical process of making a Disciple, and discovering your process of making a Disciple.)
Week 3: Leading Disciples (Casting and Implementing Vision in Your Church)
Week 4: Mobilizing Disciples (Inspiring and encouraging Disciples to impact their community and world)
